“Whether They Like It Or Not”

by Mario Herrera on November 7, 2008 · 23 comments

Very recently, Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco was quoted as saying, “whether they like it or not.” What the mayor was referring to is the thrusting forth of same sex marriage by force upon Californians. Listen to the following commercial:

So now, it is a couple of days since Election Day. The people have spoken and proposition 8 has passed, whether they like it or not! Homosexuals have attempted to make the point that some time ago interracial marriage was not allowed and now is seen as normal. They should understand that interracial marriage and the marriage of homosexuals are categorically different! Homosexuality is an abomination to God.

It is God who revealed in Scripture that marriage is to be between a man and a woman! This is the way God decreed it and this is the way it will be! Proposition 8 has passed, however, watch the news! The heaven are raging and there is talk that 7 judges could overturn the will of the people. Let the heaven rage we will side with Scripture and quote Psalm 2. Read it Gavin Newsom, to quote you, “whether you like it or not!”

There is a day coming when sinners will stand before the Just Judge who will cast those not found in union with Christ into everlasting hell! I will conclude this with the following video where John MacArthur confronts the mayor of San Francisco:

One of the arguments that I have heard many Catholics use is that we should all be united under a central authority so that we wont have doctrinal issues such as baptism splitting the chuch. Doctrinal issues would be decided, of course, by the Pope whose teaching and authority is considered to be inspired by God and therefore, perfect. Isn’t ironic that you have these heathen claiming that homosexuality and abortion fit within their Catholic faith.

Granted, Catholics shouldn’t be the only object of my criticism. Plenty of people claiming to be Protestant Christians vote for evil on a regular basis. I reserve my harshest criticism for the seeker churches whose cavalier attitude in quoting and interpreting Scripture has led, IMO, to the wholesale adaption of Scripture to one’s particular personal beliefs. Now we have hedonism hefted upon us.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a little morose. I know as a Christian I should always be joyful. But I feel like somebody who has been warning people over and over while they ignore me and now I am facing down the very reality that I warned about. As a prophet you’d think I would be somewhat happy to say “I told you so” but somehow there’s little pleasure in it.

Then again, maybe some lamenting is in order.

Sir Aaron,

“One of the arguments that I have heard many Catholics use is that we should all be united under a central authority so that we wont have doctrinal issues such as baptism splitting the chuch.”

This argument creates doctrinal issues and splits the church.

Stephen:

Thou shall not use logic on Catholics.

:)

(thoughtful response escapes me at the moment – smiley for now)

It’s always amusing to see Stephen stumped for a response. ;)

Boy does this anger me. I can’t believe they are trying to overturn Prop 8. Even the Stars are in support of it as well.

Check out this from a article I read online today. “Melissa Etheridge, who exchanged vows with her longtime partner in a 2003 ceremony, declared she wouldn’t pay her taxes in a blog entry posted Thursday on TheDailyBeast.com. The gay Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter said without the right to marry in California, she didn’t think she should have to pay taxes because “I am not a full citizen.”

“I don’t mean to get too personal here,” Etheridge wrote. “But there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes, too.” –

Give me a Break! Not a Citizen Anymore? Why did we vote then? They were hoping for the better but it just didn’t happen. God predetermined this long before time. What bugs me is that the people didn’t raise such a concern when we had to vote on it again. Were they out on the streets then?

Alot of people are saying that it’s against the Constitution. God’s ways are higher that the Constitution and It’s God’s Will for Man and Woman to be equally yoked togethor.

We need to pray for our Nation. I’m so thankful God spared us from this Propostion going through with a “NO”vote.

Oh I forgot to add, “Whether you like it or not”- you gotta say it the way that guy did it, right Mario?
We should get a loud speaker and drive by the Protesters and play that for them, over and over and over….

9 Mario Herrera November 7, 2008 at 9:47 pm

Rosanna,

That is exactly right! Whether they like it or not! Can’t help thinking about Sodom and Gomorrah! Our hope is in Christ alone!

Here is Psalm 2:

1 Why are the nations in an uproar
And the peoples devising a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”

4 He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them.

5 Then He will speak to them in His anger
And terrify them in His fury, saying,

6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7 “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.

8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron,
You shall shatter them like earthenware.’ ”

10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;
Take warning, O judges of the earth.

11 Worship the Lord with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.

12 Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

These rebel ultimately against God! Whether they like it or not!

What stupid faces the mayor makes when confronted with the truth of Scripture.

11 Becky November 8, 2008 at 2:38 pm

Yeah his face showed that he did not respect the Word at all.

12 Sir Aaron November 8, 2008 at 2:52 pm

His personal lifestyle is also evidence of that too.

13 Reformed Rich November 9, 2008 at 9:38 am

Newsom, Is propably a closet homo him self. That’s why he is so quick to jump to there defence! We need to pray for Sodom & Gomorrah (San Francisco). Genesis 18:20-21

14 Sir Aaron November 9, 2008 at 11:32 am

I agree on the prayer part. I just don’t think the first statement is appropriate.

15 Mike November 9, 2008 at 6:32 pm

We have an obligation as Christians to stand for biblical truth and never waiver. In the last days we will see a falling away. God will seperate the sheep from the goats. We as Christians worship at the alter of the Almighty God. Todays culture worships at the alter of humanisim and pleasure. Anything goes. Such were the days of Noah, the Days of Sodom and Gomorrah and such are the days we are living in. God commands us to pray for our enemies and we must unify not as wimpering Christians but Christians who believe and know that we have the Lord on our side. Persecution is beginning in the USA, who would of ever thought. A nation that once embraced Judaic Christian principles is now an “Obamanation”. May God forgive us and may God perserve His people in troubled times. So listen up Christians wake up from your slumber and gett ready for battle. Gird yourself up with the Word of God and let ephesians 6 be your breast plate of armor.

I’m in Southern CA too. I absolutely HATED that commercial with ol’ Gavie. The utter rebellion and arrogance is shameful. Drove me nuts everytime I’d see his face. LOL

What’s funny is that AFTER the people have spoken, the libs are spitting mad. Praise God they did not protest BEFORE the election, though.

Also interesting to think about: God used the pagan LDS institution to bring about an answered prayer. Reminds me of Nebuchadnezzar where God used him to judge Israel and Egypt, then turned around and judged him. Later he repented, which is good.

The Attorney for City of Los Angeles, Rocky Delgado ( I think that’s his name) is planning on suing the state of CA for passing Prop 8, or that’s the rumor anyway.

17 Denise November 9, 2008 at 6:57 pm

What is amazing is that here in CA, in 2000 we passed Prop 22 that had the same wording to define marriage. Then the 9th Circut Court of Legislation overturned it.

We pass AGAIN Prop 8 with close the same amount of people passing it…and again they threaten to over turn it.

The people HAVE spoken. This time they are right. They need to get over it.

Rosanna, Mellisa Ethridge cracks me up, what she said is so pathetic. She totally lacks any reasonable thinking ability (and that’s what I meant above re: no logic). These liberals are the product of our public school system and have become, as Jude says, like unreasoning animals.

Ironically, its their precious evolution theory that shows they are self-defeating (to put into human terms, just biologically speaking here). But b/c they can’t reason, they don’t see it. On an island, they’d all die out in one generation. Homosexuality isn’t genetic–its SIN.

18 Mario Herrera November 9, 2008 at 8:25 pm

Sir Aaron,

Are you referring to Rich’s closet homo comment?

19 Becky November 9, 2008 at 10:14 pm

Denise, they were protesting before the election. Trust me, i had to pass them everyday after work, and one night i foolishly chose a gas station at a corner of an intersection they were at on 11/3. They were at every corner with “HONK!” signs, screaming, crossing the street when it was green waving it at people all around.

Teaches me to not wait to the last drop to fill up my tank.

20 Denise November 12, 2008 at 10:36 am

Becky, yes they were on corners here in my city, but they didn’t have a protest. In other words, they were not marching down streets, causing traffic jams, damaging property (other than stealing our Pro-8 yard signs), if you see what I mean.

I did honk for the Pro-8 folks tho. :)

These Sodomites are infiltrating churches and acting like immature, adolescent monkeys.

The police should’ve been called right away and all of the robots detained until the police arrived. This is a good example of using the government and law to punish evil and to keep peace and order.

Planned Parenthood minions also infiltrate Crisis Pregnancy Centers to use up their resources as they pretend to need counseling, in hopes of drying up their finances.

22 Becky November 12, 2008 at 3:27 pm

Okay, they were having civil protests before. What you are describing sounds more like a riot.

23 Sir Aaron November 12, 2008 at 7:03 pm

Mario: Yes, I was. I don’t think we should suggest people are things when we have no evidence of that. It’s petty.

Denise: I thought the church responded very well. The Planned Parenthood operatives that you mentioned…that’s just outrageous. People are fooled into believing that if we give the evil people what they want (i.e. homosexual marriage) that they will be pacified and we’ll all live in peace and harmony. I guess people didn’t read the story of Sodom.
