His stadium is filled with 30,000 professing Christians on Sundays! When will the people wake up to realize this man is a deceiver? The truth cannot be made clearer! Are people really concerned about sitting under false teachers? May Joel Osteen take heed to the Scriptures and repent of what he is doing! Read with me the following quotes from Lectures to My Students by C.H. Spurgeon:” The world is full of counterfeits, and swarms with panderers to carnal self conceit, who gather around a minister as vultures around a carcass. Our own hearts are deceitful, so that truth lies not on the surface, but must be drawn up from the deepest well. We must search ourselves very anxiously and very thoroughly, lest by any means after having preached to others we ourselves should be castaways. “
“How horrible a preacher of the gospel and yet to be unconverted! Let each man here whisper to his own inmost soul, ‘What a dreadful thing it will be for me if I should be ignorant of the power of the truth which I am preparing to proclaim!’ Unconverted ministry involves the most unnatural relationships. “

Mr. Joel Osteen, may God awaken you and cause you to repent of what you are doing! You preach a Christless gospel and don’t have the courage to stand on His truth alone. At every opportunity to stand for Christ, you boldly deny Him. Did not Christ warn if you are ashamed of him, He shall be ashamed of you in that great Day?
People of Lakewood Church and those who comfortably sit at home listening to these motivational speeches, take heed to the wisdom put forth by Charles Spurgeon, and ultimately by the Lord Jesus Christ, who is coming again to judge he living and the dead. May the Lord cause you to awaken from your slumber and lead you to find a true church where the “pastor,” not merely holds his Bible, but preaches from it the Truth, with power, and without shame!

So what do you think about (Muslims, JW, Agnostics, New Agers,) well thanks for asking, I think they profess belief in god and thats what I believe so I dont think there is any problem.
What my Dad said growing up makes more sense know. I would say, I think or i didnt think, and he would say theres the problem, you didnt think through it.

I think Osteen really DOES have a common bond with the Mormons. They’re both lost and both share the same father, the Father of Lies.
Would Osteen also say the Ammorites, Cananites, Egyptians, Babylonians, etc. were all good people and went to heaven too? How far is this illegitimate teacher going to take his “non-judgmental” approach (which really IS judging against what Scripture itself says)?

W P Nicholson in addressing a preachers conference once said: “The road to hell is paved with the skulls of unregenerate preachers of the Gospel” and when asked to retract this emotive statement did so by apologizing with these words: “I apologize for my previous statement because it was incomplete; I should have added that in the reaction from this audience of preachers I see there are plenty more coming to keep that road in good repair”. This does seem appropriate to apply similar words to Joel Osteen, Lakewood Church and countless others around the nation and the world. Paul said that when deceivers come into the church that these must be so. They must be so in order for us to discover who the heretics are and we are then admonished throughout the letters of the New Testament what our responses are to be. It is also that those who stay with the objective revelation of truth may be identified.
In 1 Corinthians 11 v 9: For there must be also heresies among you, that they, which are approved may be made manifest among you.
In our identification with the manifest errors that abound we should also remember to live in continual thankfulness for Pastors Like Dr Bob Morey who faithfully witness to the word of God and a congregation that stands with him. The astonishing numbers that attend the mega churches should not intimidate us and I remember an old farmer who once told me that you could fill a large barn with hay and stubble in a short time; to fill it with gold would take a lifetime. Let us all beware of counting numbers and be in the business of weighing them instead.

What a good quote to remember, I know I get into this mind set that I have to change the world all at once, it even goes with the individual studies of a person, I know Dr. Bob encourages me when he says he takes years just sitting and listening to people before writing some of his books so he could get all the correct information.
I pray for that patience like that to be a good steward of Gods word and to rightly divide it.
This is one reason I pray for Mark Driscoll because he teaches reformed theology and he has hundreds of people attending his churches, and it may seem he has to make this huge community impact instead of feeding the children of God, it tough balance for him and any other pastor that wants to evangelize and apologize the world we live in while maintaining scriptural teaching.

As I’ve been reading and blogging through “Knowing Scripture” by R.C. Sproul, his words are almost prophetic when he states that people are willing to let the “professional” do their thinking for them and not go to the Bible themselves. How sad that our “professionals” are biblically illiterate. I’m convinced more and more that if this is where Evangelicalism is (or is headed) we may have to begin to stop calling ourselves “evangelicals” or fight to bring a radical change in the church. This will only happen as the Word is read, taught, pondered, memorized, and loved in our churches.

One brother was telling me he went to one of those “evenings” with Joel……when the time came to collect the offering, Joel was addressing single moms….He alluded to them giving him their money in faith, and began to cry…..at that moment, his little son says “daddy, don’t cry!” The kid is Microphoned….suddenly mom, and children are walking up to the stage spotlight on them……just a huge emotional manipulation all scripted to dupe the people who fall for it hook line and sinker!

I was impressed and convicted by this message by mark driscoll. he says in a nutschell we need to define what a church is, thats is why we have all these churches like Joel Osteens that dont look at what scripture says: a church is to be, and what a pastor is suppose to do. He says since there is no definition of a church in our society the serpant just comes in and plants a few churches. I think he is right we need to define what a church is and what a pastor is to do, this is part of the New Reformation. Lets us Define!!!

I must say that this speaker and many others who currently use the media to spread “their” message of “false hope” is expressly handled by Paul’s writings to a young preacher named Timotheus.
It is a characteristic of latter times and therefore should not cause panic amongst true believers. It was happening in the NT church and would only continue to get worse.

The only way it can be exposed as a lie or false is through the presentation of the truth. That is what Paul was encouraging Timothy to do, stick to the truth of the Word.
It is called “the good God, good devil, good man” gospel, a James Brown (feel good) salvation.
Always remember the only people who are drawn away are those who are lusting (”itching ears”) after this kind of teaching.
“My sheep” hear “My voice”, it is not possible for truly born again believers to be drawn in by such false doctrine.

If I can add a more serious spin to this, these predators are rocking people into a lullaby that basically is going to transition them straight in hell.
Unfortunately, a lot of these people who are flocking to this type motivational speaking have already made a decision to reject the truth of God’s word and therefore according to 2 Thess 2:1-12 God will send them strong delusion to embrace the lies rather than truth.
It is important to note that whenever truth is rejected, a lie has to be embraced.
Our duty is to commit ourselves to reading, studying, meditating, and sharing the Word, God’s Spirit will take care of the conversions, and harvesting.
