Wow…that is powerful.

A few thoughts:

Consider Proverbs 6:16-19~”There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers”.

We now have elected a president who actively practices these things and/or surrounds himself with others who practice them. This was my point in the abortion post. When debating others on blogs or in person there is no need to go any further than the unthinkable act of baby-murder! God help us!

I hear James White on the emails going around. I got one that actually had some encouraging words. At the end it stated that we should pray for our new leader since he will face “extreme challenges” and “very high expectations” and may God “give him wisdom”…words with a kind intent to be sure! I pray that God will call him to saving faith. A leader who would pursue holiness would be amazing!

Let us also pray that God will be merciful and keep Obama’s hand from signing FOCA…therefore saving some preborn babies. FOCA will lift all restrictions on abortion in all states.

Rahm Emanuel has now accepted the position as White House Chief of Staff. He is a thug and a liar. He once put on a display at a dinner/meeting where he repeatedly stabbed a steak knife into the table naming off his political enemies saying “dead” after each one (HT:Rush).

May God put a hedge of protection around us, may He wake us in the night to give us instruction and keep us on our knees and in His Word.

God’s grace…

I hope that the people who voted for him pay attention to the people he chooses for his cabinet. I doubt the major news stations would show the chief of staff for who he is. Nathaniel was telling me how he’s a militant lefist and has gone as far to curse conservatives…match that with what Reformed Mama said and dude…

The one thing it seems everyday citizens can agree on is that they want people, regardless of where they stand on issues, to respect the other side.

Dare I say prophetic? Francis Schaeffer believed a presuppositional approach would have been useful at the start of the 20th century. Here we are again and the church is going liberal, truths is ou the door, and people want to sit down and reason with people who just want to watch the world burn. I hope this drives us to pray even more for this country, and make us more involved politically. I believe local politics in California are not a total loss. But if the gay community stays on the course it is, it won’t disappear. They have pledged to fight prop 8. Much to pray and think about.

It goes without saying, that we must also be even more fervent in preaching the gospel.

6 Derek Manning November 6, 2008 at 3:16 pm

Here is an irony of ironies. Obama won the election with a great deal of support from African-Americans. In California, 7 out of ten of these same African-Americans voted for Prop 8 (the same-sex marriage ban). I find it interesting that it was, the turn-out for Obama that same-sex marriage was banned in California. Please see the website Obsidian Wings for a break down of the numbers (http://obsidianwings.blogs.com/obsidian_wings/2008/11/prop-8-and-the.html).

The other thing to remember is that it is God who is sovereign, and He alone gives earthly leaders their power.

Becky,

Some conservative thought Obama’s cabinet choices were actually good…

I’m not going to worry about these things. God’s in control and works everything according to His will. We can and should continue to fight, but we should continue to rejoice in the Lord.

In response to the video:

He mentions many of the points I’ve been saying for some time. As I recently said in another thread, we’ll soon know the difference between the wheat and the tares.

9 Becky November 7, 2008 at 10:05 am

I never said i’m not continuing to rejoice…i’m not sure what these conservatives are on (and their opinion is more or less irrlevant if they aren’t Christian) but if what Reformed Mama said is true, i don’t see how they can be good choices. I’m an optimistic person though and nothing can get me down, because i know God is in control.

Becky:

Amen.

We Christians are going to have to lift each other up more than ever. We’ll have to encourage each other in the times to come.

Thank you James and praise God for your ministry. Francis Schaeffer said it back in the 80’s. Where is our meaning and worth? I am not recyclable lol. God is in charge I pray for myself and fellow christians to be empowered to proclaim Jesus alone! Tough times are ahead, may the Lord strengthen us on our path. And whats up with Barak being born in Kenya??

12 Sir Aaron November 7, 2008 at 12:05 pm

Joey:

I think the claim that BO was born in Kenya has been pretty much laid to rest. The attorney who is suing is a 9/11 truth nut. BO did release his birth certificate and legitimate analysts have concluded that there is nothing wrong with it.

Dear folks in America

Sadly, America appears to be following in the footsteps of Europe – including my own country the United Kingdom. We Christians in Great Britain have witnessed the decline of moral standards over many years. Right is deemed to be wrong, and evil is called good. The small percentage of sodomites in Britain have a voice far in excess of their numbers, yet they are very actively anti-Christian. For all their claim to ‘civil rights’, they are the very people who seek to deny Christians in Britain the right to speak out. Yet speak out we must.

The Prime Minister of Britain, Gordon Brown, was raised in a manse as the son of a minister. He recently stated that he was on a “moral crusade”. Immediately upon making this statement, he attended the House of Commons and spoke out in favour of relaxing the laws on abortion, of approving laws which allowed research that would produce cells that are half man / half animal, and in favour of legislation that promoted homosexuality. How blind our leaders are when morality has no fixed point of reference other than situation ethics.

I pray that my fellow Christians in America will be given the grace to speak the truth with boldness, and that many in America will be awakened to the need of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We must also pray one for another. Please pray for your brethren in Britain, as we will continue to pray for you in America.

Dear friends,

As a fellow contender for the truth along with James White I am pleased to see this ‘wake-up’ call following the election of Mr Obama.

Another contender and brother in Christ in South Africa, Shaun Willcock has written a very enlightening article about Mr Obama and it can be viewed on his website on

http://www.biblebasedministries.co.uk/2008/11/19/comrade-barack-obama/

Finally could I invite readers to visit my own website on

http://www.takeheed.net

and see how we on this side of the Atlantic are grappling very much with the same issues as you our brothers and sisters in Christ in America.

James, indeed we need prayer!

Sadly, the major problem isn’t the world; it’s the “churches”. It seems a lot of professing Christians here point fingers at the world, especially since the election of Obama, saying God is going to judge this nation. What I point out to them is that God IS going to judge alright, but He will start His judgment with everyone’s church!

He’ll get to the world, but He is starting to sift through these groups that call themselves churches, who name Christ, yet have hirelings or worse, wolves, shepherding His flock. These are men who have no love for His people even when they say they do, who preach for the paycheck and benefits (which is a consideration before they take the top job), busy “feeding” everyone else’s’ flock but their own (conference circuit) at a price (preaching isn’t done for free anymore); they scatter the sheep, starve them of food, refuse to care for those who are burdened, and make a nice living off the sheep. See Ezek. 34.

Moreover these “churches” haven’t a clue about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and consider biblical doctrine as optional. How dare any Christian point fingers at the world, when those who name HIS name defy the very Master they say they believe!

Hypocrites are running amuck. Christians vote for abortionists, think politics will save our nation and our churches; they cower at the feet of leaders who are in serious error, ignore the sin of those in their church, play footsies with God-haters, water down the gospel, judge others for being judgmental, pretend they are a solid church and say the “right” things but inwardly they are dead. They use code words like “Sovereignty of God” yet mock that very thing by acting like atheists. They say they want everyone to use their spiritual gifts, then shut down the very gifts God has given to their church because it goes against their agenda. They want a big church and demand if the people really want to honor and glorify Christ, they will sacrifice for their multi-million dollar building fund—all the while the sheep are abused, wandering, starving, thirsty, dirty, scared, and feeling helpless.

God will judge this nation, but He will judge these “churches” first. It won’t be pretty and it won’t be easy. It will be painful and those who are His will have to endure much pain and persecutiong. But God is our Rock and Hiding Place. He is our Great Shepherd.
