Happy Morbid 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade!

More properly titled: Happy Morbid 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade!

(This BT post is NOT suitable for the young or faint of heart)

“A sound is heard in Ramah,
a sound of crying in bitter grief.
It is the sound of Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted, because her children are gone.”
-Jeremiah 31:15

Excerpted from One News Now:

As he promised during the election campaign, Barack Obama on Friday struck down a ban against taxpayer funded abortions abroad.

RM: Goodie, Obama IS a man of his word!

Obama’s move was warmly welcomed by liberal groups and denounced by defenders of unborn children.

RM: Denounced! Why would that be?

The ban has been a political football between Democratic and Republican administrations since GOP President Ronald Reagan first adopted it 1984. Democrat Bill Clinton ended the ban in 1993, but Republican George W. Bush re-instituted it in 2001 as one of his first acts in office.

RM: Um…should be self-explanatory…but…babies are NOT “political footballs”.

“For too long, international family planning assistance has been used as a political wedge issue, the subject of a back and forth debate that has served only to divide us,” Obama said in a statement released by the White House. “I have no desire to continue this stale and fruitless debate.”

RM: You heard him, Obama thinks that to murder or not to murder our babies is a “stale and fruitless debate”.

“In the coming weeks, my administration will initiate a fresh conversation on family planning, working to find areas of common ground to best meet the needs of women and families at home and around the world,” the president said.

RM: “Common ground”? That is hysterical…and tragic. Today I heard that, Democrat Nancy Pelosi said in essence that abortion and contraception helps the economy! You can read part of her interview here http://www.drudgereport.com/flashpbc.htm or listen to a clip of it at lauraingraham.com under Audio Corner-free stuff, dated 1/26/09.

Obama issued the presidential memorandum rescinding the Bush policy without coverage by the media, late Friday afternoon.

RM: Come on Media…where were you?? Let me guess…hair washing day??

The abortion measure is a highly emotional one for many people, and the quiet signing was in contrast to the televised coverage of Obama’s announcement Wednesday on ethics rules and Thursday’s signing of orders on closing the Guantanamo Bay prison camp and banning torture in the questioning of terror suspects.

RM: Silly Christian-Right wing…we get so “emotional” over the darndest things!

His action came one day after the 36th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.

RM: ::sigh::

The Bush policy had banned U.S. taxpayer money, usually in the form of Agency for International Development funds, from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion as a family planning method.

RM: “Family planning” is my fav phrase.

The ban has been known as the “Mexico City policy” for the city a U.S. delegation first announced it at a U.N. International Conference on Population.

Pro-life groups and lawmakers condemned Obama’s decision.

“I have long supported the Mexico City Policy and believe this administration’s decision to be counter to our nation’s interests,” said Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

“Coming just one day after the 36th anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision, this presidential directive forces taxpayers to subsidize abortions overseas – something no American should be required by government to do,” said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.

Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., called it “morally wrong to take the taxpayer dollars of millions of pro-life Americans to promote abortion around the world.”

RM: Don’t know a lot about what these men have done towards solutions but I am grateful for their comments.

“President Obama not long ago told the American people that he would support policies to reduce abortions, but today he is effectively guaranteeing more abortions by funding groups that promote abortion as a method of population control,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director of the National Right to Life Committee.

In a related move, Obama also said he would restore funding to the U.N. Population Fund (UNFPA).

The Bush administration had barred U.S. money from the fund, contending that its work in China supported a Chinese family planning policy of coercive abortion and involuntary sterilization.

Here is a haunting video clip. Note the name of the abortuary.

If you want to know more about the woman in the above clip you can google her or go the site that features her movie which is based on her actual experience here.

I’ll be honest I probably won’t see it. Obviously I support her, but literally I wouldn’t sleep for days if I watched it. Just thinking through the possibility of submitting this article to BT I was awake until about 4 am this morning. The scripture I began with has been running through my mind for days. Although it does not deal directly with abortion, it is effective and appropriate to meditate upon.

Let me just put my unique spin on the subject of abortion. While the methods of the actual abortion procedures are cruel and grotesque, beyond words, I KNOW that God remains sovereign. I UNDERSTAND that my King has conquered death and that He is JUST. The aborted babies, that is their souls, will be judged perfectly by our God. I TRUST Him. What keeps me up at night then? It is the wickedness of my fellow man. Wickedness that moves from the decision, by the mother, to murder baby Doe to the doctor/staff who offer the choice of murder weapon and subsequently carry out the murder. These murders are performed daily with the chanting in the background of the mind that “a woman has the RIGHT to do what she wants with her own body”!! Feminazis applaud…government officials (our Herod) wink…Rachel weeps.

Join me, Christian, in praying in an imprecatory manner for the unsaved who go about doing the devil’s will (2 Tim.2). Go here http://www.the-highway.com/articleJune00.html for an article by Jay Adams on imprecatory prayer. Consider this excerpt:

“Luther’s exposition of John 17:9 gives us careful instruction and a true illustration of this prayer for our enemies:

We should pray that our enemies be converted and become our friends, and if not, that their doing and designing be bound to fail and have no success and that their persons perish rather than the Gospel and the kingdom of Christ. Thus the saintly martyr Anastasia, a wealthy, noble Roman matron, prayed against her husband, an idolatrous and terrible ravager of Christians, who had flung her into a horrible prison, in which she had to stay and die. There she lay and wrote to the saintly Chrysogonus diligently to pray for her husband that, if possible, he be converted and believe; but if not, that he be unable to carry out his plans and that he soon make an end of his ravaging. Thus she prayed him to death, for he went to war and did not return home. So we, too, pray for our angry enemies, not that God protect and strengthen them in their ways, as we pray for Christians, or that He help them, but that they be converted, if they can be; or, if they refuse, that God oppose them, stop them and end the game to their harm and misfortune.”

May God’s grace flood our lives…

RM,

AMEN to your post!

Now to the cynical side. I thought that Obama was a “christian” and that he believed in God. This must remind us that to the humanist a baby is simply a blob of tissue and not a real person. The Bible instructs us that life begins at conception, not at the point in time at which a woman finds out she is pregnant and decides to “keep” the baby.

“Proud survivor of the great American holocaust.”

How very true, true indeed.

It hurts so much and reminds you so very boldly of the depravity of man. The pain only goes away when I remember that God is sovereign, and one day there will be no more death.

Hey Glen…so glad you survived!!

You are a blessing and a great support…plus you are a hero. Thanks for the updates regarding Daniel, in the other posts. We pray for your family regularly.

Much grace always…

I agree Becky God is sovereign, has conquered death and one day we will be free of the sufferings we experience here on earth. Amen!?

What do you think of that video? Wild huh?

5 Becky January 29, 2009 at 10:38 pm

It’s aggravating it went to so many different people. And how fast they’d be there if it were any other location than an abortion clinic.

6 Jean Cauvin January 30, 2009 at 5:11 pm

Hello,

“Roe”, is supposedly a Christian now. I can’t imagine the guilt she must feel.

The abortion industry is the modern version of Moloch, however the object of sacrifice would be to themselves within the self given structure of secular “self” worship.

Those unrepentant who commit abortions will enjoy a hotter section of Hell’s palace.

Respectfully,

Jean Cauvin (Jude 3).

Hi Jean, Norma McCorvey, is “Roe”, and although she played the “patsy” for the pro-abortion movement as the selected landmark case, she has professed faith in Christ and is active in the pro-life movement. I have to say that it bothers me that in the same way she was a “patsy” for the pro abortion movement, she had her babtism documented and filmed by Christian pro life activists. She is now a confirmed Roman Catholic and is still active in pro life activities. I see no reason to doubt her repentance from being involved in the abortion industry, but she’s obviously misguided in her theological understanding. I think she’s easily seduced to follow who ever will give her attention, and it might be that the reason she sought confirmation with the Roman Church, is because Randall Terry did the same thing.

8 Jean Cauvin January 31, 2009 at 6:47 pm

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the reminder. Although, I was unaware that she was Roman Catholic. This is an indicator that she most likely will enter the gates of hell upon death.

Though I would march side by side with her or any other pagan related to political issues (abortion, freedom, genecide, etc) in terms of a fight towards truth.

I would also march with the pagan “Mormon’s” as well regarding Proposition 8 even though the LDS “movement” is satanic.

Morey I believe concurs since he too marches and helps pagans related to the truth. I believe he even said once that he would march with Sun Myung Moon regarding conservative issues related towards the truth (Moon owns the Washington Post).

It’s fantastic that God has allowed her to become a walking adhominem towards the enemy. God loves to mock the wicked (e.g. Psalms 2). It’s a little enjoyable for me as well.

Respectfully,

Jean Cauvin (Jude 3).

Amen.

Thank you RM for this post.

Thanks, Reformed Mama. I just want to put my two cents in. In 1979, I found myself unmarried and pregnant by my boyfriend. Since at that time I was attending a bible college, was a chaplin’s assistant in the National Guard, and most of all had dishonored the Lord in what I had done, it was tempting to do “something” to cover my sin. A woman at a “free clinic”–after pointing out my minimal income, young age, and non-married status–urged me to have an abortion. She also stated that no one would have to know and that I could go on with my life. Before the pregnancy, I had agreed with other Christians that I believed abortion is wrong and I knew that I would always know what I had done–if I were to go through with the abortion. I was embarassed and ashamed, but I gave birth to my son the next year. Would this be an example of people who are a “drain” on the economy–as if it were only a financial issue and not a moral issue? I am glad I chose life instead of murdering an unborn. I hope this helps someone.

P.S. Your comments regarding those who are in the “. . .snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will,” (II Tim. 2:26), and imprecatory prayer, and the reference to the Adam’s article were helpful.

Hi Brad B~

Wow, I didn’t know Norma and Randall Terry were Roman Catholic. Sad. It does offer a warning in a way, as we can make an idol of anything. IMO many Roman Catholics do this with abortion and other things. May God keep us from idols!

You’re welcome Sir Aaron! Thanks for the support. =)

Hi Carol H~

Welcome!

It is sooo good to hear your amazing story. I am so grateful that you chose life! I agree with you, may your story touch another and be a blessing by God’s grace.

I am so pleased that this post was helpful…thanks for taking the time to say so. Come by any time, you are an encouragement.

Thanks again for sharing something so personal.
God’s grace…

I wanted to take a chance to praise our Sovereign God who in His infinite mercy and grace has granted my wife and I to raise, lead, and train yet another child. We were notified last week that we are going to be placed with a little boy to adopt. This will be #4 for us.

Now, why did I choose this specific post to share this great news?

The reactions of many who hear the news that we are going to be adopting a forth child for the most part have been met with something like “I question your judgment” (which is an actual quote) to “Don’t you know when to stop” (yet another actual quote). There are some in the Christian community that would and do share these views (some even in my own church). I believe that they have forgotten about Ps 127.

1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Another reason is that all of my children, like myself, have survived the great American holocaust. I am a survivor based solely on the fact that I was born after Roe v. Wade, but most of my children are survivors even more than I am because they have medical problems/needs. If those who take a humanist view where to have their way my children would be removed from society and thus “relieve the burden.”

Those that would say this have never met my children. They have never seen the joy on their faces and seen the joy that they bring to my wife and I. They would deprive the world of beautiful gifts from God.

Keep up the wonderful work RM…

Hi Glen~

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Another blessing on his way…by God’s great grace. It grieves me that people would say such unkind things to you regarding children. Ignorance??

I have begun to explore the Quiverfull ministry and your comment today made me think of this quote I saw on another blog…it’s actually another ‘Reformed Mama’s blog (there are at least 3 of us, who knew?):

“The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing; but in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture.” ~ Doug Phillips

Thought provoking.

As I said you are one of my heros…and your wife too of course! I applaud your unselfish behavior as it does emulate Christ. You are in our prayers as you are living out what I call “Taking the Pro-Life movement to it’s furthest conclusion”.

May God continue to grant you His Grace! Here is a lovely video to celebrate along with you:
