It certainly isn't the last time you hear from me. I'm amazed how God has used this small article. I was also amazed how Dr. George Hutchinson spoke on Faith.. Crumby Faith, to be exact. The Lord is doing a work. For 5pointbaptist, I thank the Lord that He used this article in your life. Hang on in there and Rest in your Saviors Love for you. Whatever it is your going through, remember you have a God that created this World who is very mindful of you and what your facing. Prayers will be with you. For S.H., God's Timing is always Perfect. His ways are Good and Just. Hope to hear from anyone else. God be with all of you.

Praise be to God

For those that may not have understood my last comment regarding "crumby faith," allow me to explain.

Dr. George Hutchinson, one of Dr. Morey's mentors, spoke at our church yesterday. His sermon was on the faith of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15. Here is the text:

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman [ESV]

21 And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” 23 But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” 28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly. - Matt. 15:21-28

Read v.27 again. The sermon was called "crumby faith." Dr. Hutchinson's point was that she recognized and accepted her unworthiness before the Lord and sought his mercy, willing to take the crumbs. In v.28, Jesus said "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” This came after denying her three times. Dr. Hutchinson made a statement in his sermon that if you are willing to accept the crumbs, He's willing to give you the cake.

Rosanna, I hope this isn't the last we hear from you! What a blessing, thank you.

It amazes me how gracious God is in His timing. I went to read this article a few hours ago but was distracted.
I just got off of the phone 10 minutes ago, checked my email and read this.
The person on the other line was informing me that we were loosing our home and there's no way out of it.
Praise the Lord for His gracious compassion and comfort in the trials He gives us. It constantly amazes me that he comforts us when He disciplines us.
What a GREAT and AWESOME God is He!!!

Let me be honest, just that snippet that is posted put me into tears. It is exactly what I needed to hear. I am currently going through some very difficult times and I believe that the Lord is using this disipline in order to "get my attention." Mario, I feel the same way, like the Lord has said, "go and sin no more." I feel like the Israelites when they would sin and God would judge; they would repent, and Gods grace and mercy would abound. On and on it went. I do not want that; I do not want to wander for 40 years. I want to repent as the Lord grants it. Please keep me in prayer as I seek to make it past this great and terrible time I am in. May the Lord have mercy upon me to His glory alone!!!

Can someone say "crumby faith?"

I wonder if Dr. George Hutchinson read your article before his sermon yesterday.

The Lord was very gracious to you. The Lord will definetly use many circumstances to get our attention. May we learn from those times and keep running the race set before us. Thanks bro!

Great article Rosanna. It reminds me of those times the Lord has pressed me and disciplined me. I was recently telling a brother about the time I crashed into an electrical box going pretty fast on my mountain bike. When I hit I thought I would pass out. My knee was scraped bad and bleeding. Before I hit, I had been pitying myself yet knowing I can be very rebellious toward my Lord. When I saw I could walk, I got up walked my bike, and in my mind I could hear the words "go and sin no more, or else something worse will happen to you." A momentary fear took over me because I know what a crooked stick I am. I thanked the Lord for His grace at that moment because I easily deserve to be taken out of this life according to my deeds. But praise God he has not dealt with us according to what our deeds deserve! I need his chastening, I need his discipline and its in those times that God given faith is exercised, you write a huge "check of faith" up to the throne of grace, and the Father quickly cashes it and returns us great assurance, not because of us, but because of our union with His Blessed Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! How firm a foundation! Thanks Rosanna!
