An Emergent Easter?

Stephen Macasil

Pastor-Teacher Ken Silva (one of the hardest working people in apologetics these days) has a post on the Apprising Ministries site here that gives an inside look to an “Emergence Christianity” “Easter Gathering.” In case you’ve ever wondered what EC folks do when they gather and express their anthropocentric religious systems, click through and give it a look!

  1. Given the historocity (is that a word?) of “easter” that might actually be appropriate for these churches of the tares. ;)

  2. Hello everybody, I have a prayer praise and request…

I have been (and am still) on temporary duty with the USAF in Texas. In my training class we have some international students. God has enabled myself and some other christains in the class to share some of the Gospel with them. I praise God that He has given us the opportunity to share His Word with others that under other circumstances would not have heard the Gospel. We are going out to dinner tomorrow for the purpose of sharing the Gospel with them. Please pray that God gives us wisdom when showing the differences between the Gospel and Islam and that God grants them understanding.

Another praise is that God has opened the opportunity for my family and I to move to Alaska. We have been praying for a chance to move to Anchorage for a better opportunity for raising our children. God has been good to us. Also praise to our Mighty King for our new addition to our family. While I’ve been in Texas we brought Caleb home. God has blessed us with him and his beautiful life. He is 15 months old and did not have a permanent home until he was 1 yr. I was only able to meet him for about an hour before I left so I’m so anxious to get home and get to know him.

Thank you all for all your prayers.

Glen, may God richly bless you, your family and the ministry He has set for you. Be encouraged always…

    John 7:14-18

  4. Last night was wonderful. I was able to share the entire Gospel with my friend. We talked for about 6 hours. He was asking questions that takes many Christians years to get to. God allowed me to explain the blood of Christ on the cross, God’s sovereignty, election, grace vs. works, and much more. I don’t know what God will do with the seeds planted last night, but I pray that His will be done.

I think Ms. CA might be from the Emergent Church, everyone thinks she did such a good job by standing against Gay marriage, but her answered also showed her lack of unerstanding that Christ offends people.

    What do you guys think

  8. Jean Cauvin

    Hi Travis,

The issue of Ms. CA is that she is obviously a woman. And as such, woman tend to be more emotional and less logical. Thus, you would expect this from an average woman with little maturity.

With that being said, she did conclude correctly which is commendable. So objectivity got in there somewhere.

Though was it objectivity? She said she believes this because she was “raised that way.” Is this a logical justification. I’m afraid not.

So while her conclusion was accurate, her method of argument and emotional “womanly” immaturity caused her to be unBiblical in the beginning and middle, but not in the end.

    Respectfully,

  9. WOW.

Although i’m confused by the comments. Is this a fake website? Looks real. And who is Ms.CA? Or is Rule#1 not relevant anymore?

So lost maybe i’m just tired.

  10. Becky,

I think Ms. California is who they were talking about. I guess she spoke out against homosexuality during a pageant. I saw something briefly about it on the news, but don’t have any details.

I was confused at first too. I scanned the Recent Comments to the right looking for a Ms. CA :) And I wasn’t even tired!

    Travis:

my thoughts are summed up by Dan Phillips at his blog: http://bibchr.blogspot.com/.
